- Congratulations to BASW students
For the 5th straight year in a row a group of Social Welfare students have won the Influencing State Policy Contest. Congratulations go out to Rob Jones, Kashia Kelly,Vilma Algara, Tina Nguyen and Hongda Sao! Their work in lobbying for the HB 2688 to prohibit Department Of Corrections(DOC) from transferring an offender to an out-of-state facility if s/he was regularly participating in extended family visits with his/ her child or participating in extended family visits, participating in parent teacher conferences involving his/ her child, if the offender had 6 contacts in person with his/ her child within the last six months prior to the proposed transferl.
